The widespread use of the word infidelity in religious texts, having a wide range of doctrinal and jurisprudential dimensions and turning related issues into the most important challenge of Islamic societies in the present era, requires a careful study of the meaning of this word and its components. This article, which is organized in a descriptive-analytical manner, seeks to analyze the definition of this word and its characteristics in the expression of jurists and theologians and to examine their narrative documents. The jurists and theologians have considered such things as: denial and denial, ignorance, doubt in the existence of God and the mission of the Prophet, lack of faith, disruption of principles such as monotheism and justice and belief in the causes of departure from Islam as components of infidelity. The findings of this study indicate that among the aforementioned features, only effort and denial have solid narrative documents, but other components either do not have a document or do not have a strong document. Thus, blasphemy is an action (denial and denial) against beliefs, not just non-reaction.
