This paper studies the function of time and place in ijtihad. Circumstances of time and place in determining the subject of religious precepts has a fundamental function and the subjects of religious commandments are regarded as causes for commands. Thus there are many different views about the influence of time and place on religious commandments. The approach of the writing is the investigation of the concepts of time and place and their role in ijtihad that can develop the jurisprudence in times and places and this approach shows the importance of dealing with this subject.
